I was particularly pleased with the contrast between the Maple of the legs and the English Brown oak of the shelves.
Brown Oak refers to oak which has been infected with a fungus, Fistulina hepatica, having the effect of turning the wood a deep brown colour. Once the wood has been cut and dried, the fungus dies, leaving a rich golden brown colour throughout.
