With raising book support and electrical sockets to rear
Standing Desk in Oak
This standing desk was made to a customer's very specific requirements, in particular the raising book rest and internal electrical sockets.
I took that specification and added aesthetically pleasing elements, starting with the steam-bent legs, which led to the angled shape of the top.
From the outset, I was keen to incorporate the feeling that the parts were somehow floating away from each other. Brown Oak was used for the recessed frames in order to highlight the shadow and over-size chamfers were added where the legs meet the top.
